This is always a terrific seminar and a chance to get CLE credit that is actually related to our jobs.  It is also one of the few opportunites to meet other Attorney-Advisors in person.  ICLEGA gives us a 20% government atty discount.  The association will open the hospitality suite Thursday night.  Contact Jim Hitchcock for more info.

We had a good turnout.  Former member ALJ Nikki Flowers gave a presentation, encouraging Atty-Adv's to apply to become ALJs whenever OPM reopens the register.  The odds of an AA or SAA being selected have been far better than ever before.

The seminar itself was very good, with interesting presentations on SSI income & resource issues; the new "mystery ALJ" policy; etc.

Are writers given administrative leave to attend conferences or do you use personal leave?

In my office, attorneys are granted administrative leave for CLE's that are directly related to disability law.  I think that is the policy handed down from Region 4.    In this case, I got admin leave for both days.
