Anyone know how long it takes to get an offer from an agecy once the list is set? Any way to find out where you stand on the list?

It is a serious of steps, which do not have set time lines.

Here is what we know.  Last Wednesday, SAA settled the transfers from the transfer list so the end of last week or perhaps next week, SSA should send their final list of cities with slots to be filled to OPM to request a certified list of qualified candidate.  OPM will then sent a list, with at least three qualified applicants for each location.  If SSA requests 155 slots as expected, that means OPM sends a list of 450-500.

SAA will them interview the folks on the list that are new - some folks on the list they receive likely will have been interviewed last year.  It is my understanding that SSA has interviews scheduled for the third week in April.  I'd guess offers will go out sometime in Mid May.  The first ALJ training class is slated to start July 6, with a report date to the receiving office of June 22.

As far as where you are on the list, I don't think there is anyway to find out your position, short of discovery.  I know some people who were hired last year with scores in the 60s.  As long as your score is high enough to get an SSA interview, your exact place on the list does not really matter.

I wish I'd gotten a score in the 60's, but I was only a teenager then. Roll Eyes
