Waiting to hear

Hi all, I interviewed for an attorney advisor position with SSA and got a phone call from the chief ALJ two weeks ago that I had the job. She told me to expect a call from personnel with my start date at the end of last week, but it did not come and still hasn't and we are now mid the following week. Anything for me to be concerned about, or is it just personnel working slowly? I'm a bit anxious because I'm a new attorney and have had a hard time finding a job. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

i've heard personnel works slowly. what area of country are you in?  You could always call the regional HR office.

I'm in Baltimore.

They are still accepting applications and interviewing for Baltimore so perhaps that is the hold up... It wouldn't hurt to call personnel though!

I see. Should I be at all concerned about my job status, though? Like I said, the chief ALJ told me I was hired.

I would definitely call the HOCAL or the Hearing Office Director  and let them know you have not heard from RO personnel.  Typically, RO has to approve the HOCALJ selection and it is not official until then.
